April 10, 2007 - As part of Ridgefield Bank’s continuing support of
the Ridgefield community, the Bank presented a check for $30,000 to
the Town of Ridgefield 300th Anniversary Committee on
Monday, April 9th. The donation covers the entire cost
of producing a comprehensive book, in honor of the town’s
tri-centennial. An illustrated timeline concentrating on the
mid-1800’s up to the present time as well as many quotes from
political and community leaders, people involved in the arts and
other aspects of Ridgefield, will be included. The book, which is
being written by Tom Belote, will rely heavily on research into town
records including town meetings from the 18th through 20th
centuries, land records, Ridgefield archives and secondary sources.
The Town of Ridgefield 300th Anniversary will officially
begin in early January 2008 and end in late September with major
events, exhibits, talks, publication of the anniversary book, and
more planned throughout the celebration.
