FAIRFIELD COUNTY BANK ELECTS JOHN H. FREY AS NEW CORPORATOR
Paul S. McNamara, Chairman of the Board of Fairfield County Bank announced that John H. Frey, State Representative was elected as a Fairfield County Bank Corporator at the Bank’s annual meeting held the evening of July 14, 2009.
State Representative Frey has been a resident of Ridgefield, Connecticut since 1965, and he is a Principal of CENTURY 21 Landmark Properties, a residential real estate firm located in Ridgefield. He is serving his sixth term as a State Representative for District 111-Ridgefield. He is the Minority Whip, serves on the Finance Committee, Revenue and Bonding Committee and the Banks Committee, and is a Ranking Member of the Select Committee on Aging.
John H. Frey is a member of the Republican National Committee, served as a Connecticut National Committeeman since 2008, and is a Presidential Appointee to the President’s Commission on White House Fellowships. Since 1995 he has served as an advisory board member to the UCONN School of Business –Center for Real Estate and Urban Economic Studies.
Mr. Frey is an active community supporter. He currently is a Trustee of the Ridgefield National Historic Society, an advisory Board member for Meals on Wheels, an Incorporator and former board member of the Ridgefield Visiting Nurse Association and a member of the Ridgefield Family Fourth Committee. He previously served as President and Board member of the Ridgefield Community Center and is a past Chairman of the Connecticut Real Estate Commission.

FAIRFIELD COUNTY BANK. HOLDS 138TH ANNUAL MEETING
Ridgefield, CT -- On Tuesday, July 14, 2009, Fairfield County Bank Corp. held its 138th Annual Meeting. The 100 attendees included the Bank’s Board of Directors, Board of Incorporators and senior employees.
The Board of Incorporators represents business professionals from the market area of Fairfield County Bank. This year John H. Frey, State Representative was elected to the Board of Incorporators. The Annual Meeting provides a forum for reporting to the Incorporators of the Bank about the financial well being and the strategic initiatives of the bank.
Senior Executive officers; Paul S. McNamara, Chairman, Gary C. Smith, President and CEO, Dave Schneider, Executive Vice President, CFO and Dan Berta, Executive Vice President of Strategic Planning presented an overview of the banking industry, the impact of the current economic environment on the Bank, the Bank’s financial reports and the accomplishments of the Bank relative to its current strategic plan. The presentations of the group showed the Bank had planned well for the current economic conditions and was performing better than the peer group the Bank uses in its benchmark and performance metrics. All were optimistic that the economy will start to recover by late 2009 or early 2010.
Notable in the remarks of the Executive Officers was the performance of the retail lending area which has produced more loans to date in 2009 than in all of 2008 and the Bank continues to lend in the Commercial arena. Deposit growth is strong and an employee initiative I.D.E.A, an employee suggestion program designed to solicit ideas for service and efficiency improvements has provided over 800 cost saving and service ideas.
Fairfield County Bank opened two new offices in 2008, i.parkSM at 761 Main Avenue in Norwalk and the Stamford Office located at 850 East Main, Stamford, CT. The bank recently opened its new Partridge Hill Office at 215 Post Road West in Westport and is building a new office designed as LEED Certified, an environmentally compliant office at 10 Compo Road South in Westport. It is expected that the Compo Road Office will open by year end 2009.

John Frey has received many awards for his service, commitment and contribution to many State and local organizations among them; Champion of Youth Award, Ridgefield Boys and Girls Club, the Larry Award, Aldrich Museum, Legislator of the Year, CT Recreation and Parks Association 2008, Legislator of the Year Award, Mothers Against Drunk Driving 2005, UCONN Advocate 2003, and the Community Service Award of the Ridgefield Kiwanis in 2002.
John graduated from Ridgefield High School and attended Western Connecticut State University.
